Client: Bender CFO Services | Industry: Fractional CFO and Financial Advisory Services
Services Provided: Fractional Marketing Leadership, HubSpot CMS and CRM, Content Marketing, SEO and AEO, Email Marketing, Website Strategy, and Sales Enablement
Bender CFO Services helps business owners understand their numbers, improve profitability, manage cash flow, and make stronger growth decisions. Since 2019, CycleWerx Marketing has served as the firm’s long-term marketing partner, providing both senior marketing leadership and the execution capacity needed to keep the work moving.
The engagement touched nearly every part of Bender’s marketing, from brand and website work to content, search, email, HubSpot, and sales support.
The larger result is more important than any one deliverable. Bender gained a coordinated marketing system that supports visibility, authority, audience growth, and business development without requiring Shane Bender to build and manage an internal marketing department.
CycleWerx served as Bender’s outsourced marketing department—providing the senior leadership to set priorities and make strategic decisions, along with the hands-on execution required to keep the work moving across channels.
The engagement gave Bender one experienced partner responsible for connecting strategy, execution, and continuous improvement across the marketing function.
“CycleWerx has been our long-term marketing partner at Bender CFO Services. They built our website on HubSpot CMS, manage our ongoing content marketing and SEO, publish new blogs, and run both of our newsletters—including the one focused on marketing agencies.
Having a fractional CMO who understands CFO Advisory services and how we work has been a huge advantage.
Highly recommend CycleWerx.”
— Shane Bender
Founder, Bender CFO Services
Professional-service firms often grow through referrals long before they build a formal marketing function. That creates a difficult middle stage. The firm has expertise and a strong reputation, but visibility, publishing, lead nurturing, and sales follow-up still depend heavily on the owner’s time.
Bender needed more than occasional marketing help. The website had to evolve with the business. Shane’s financial expertise needed a steady publishing system. Different audiences required distinct messages, and the firm needed marketing and sales tools that could support a longer, trust-based buying cycle.
The work also had to adapt. Bender’s positioning became more focused on marketing and PR agencies, new offers were introduced, search behavior changed, and HubSpot capabilities expanded. A fixed campaign or narrow vendor relationship would not have been enough.
Bender needed a partner who understood the business, could help set priorities, and could execute across channels without requiring Shane to manage each project separately.
The goal was to build a practical marketing department around Shane’s expertise. Every major channel needed a clear role, and the work had to compound instead of restarting with each campaign.
The website would serve as the central platform. Content would answer the questions owners ask before hiring a fractional CFO. Search and social channels would make that expertise easier to discover. Newsletters would nurture two different audiences, while HubSpot would connect marketing activity to follow-up and sales conversations.
Building that kind of system required more than a single campaign or isolated marketing activity. CycleWerx worked across four connected areas: positioning and brand, website and conversion infrastructure, content and search, and the HubSpot tools that supported follow-up and sales activity.
CycleWerx became a strategic sounding board as well as the execution team. The work included setting priorities, reviewing channel performance, developing offers, and refining how Bender described its value to business owners.
A major part of that work was helping Bender develop a stronger niche around marketing and PR agencies. CycleWerx created the messaging and supporting assets for that audience, including a dedicated agency advisory page and content addressing agency-specific concerns such as margins, hiring decisions, cash flow, and profitability.
CycleWerx also rebuilt Bender’s visual identity, including its logo, brand colors, brand guide, social media backgrounds, and related visual assets. This gave Bender’s more focused positioning a consistent visual expression across its website, email, social channels, and sales materials.
CycleWerx also helped package the Growth and Profit Engagement, giving Bender a clearer entry offer for owners who needed focused financial guidance before committing to a longer advisory relationship.
CycleWerx first moved Bender’s website from WordPress to HubSpot CMS so the website, content, forms, CRM, and follow-up could work from the same platform. The site was later rebuilt with the Clean Lite theme and has continued to evolve through ongoing monthly improvements.
The team created and refined service pages, landing pages, lead magnets, calls to action, and meeting paths. These updates gave Bender a flexible platform that could change as the firm’s positioning, offers, and audiences changed.
Content became the core of Bender’s long-term visibility strategy. CycleWerx has written or edited more than 100 blog articles since the partnership began. The team also converted podcast interviews into articles with embedded video, turning each conversation into a searchable authority asset instead of a one-time recording.
When the partnership began, Bender had zero SEO keywords ranking. CycleWerx supported the growing content library with keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, content updates, and ongoing SEO monitoring. The search program later expanded beyond traditional rankings to include answer-engine visibility, LinkedIn articles, and a twice-weekly Google Business Profile publishing cadence.
The focus was not traffic for its own sake. CycleWerx concentrated on terms connected to Bender’s services and target audiences, including agency CFO services and fractional CFO searches in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
CycleWerx built and managed two distinct newsletter channels. The Profitable Agency newsletter speaks directly to marketing-agency owners, while the Financial Intelligence Guide reaches a broader group of small-business owners, referral partners, and other people interested in financial decision-making.
Blog articles and podcast content also support LinkedIn posts, twice-monthly LinkedIn articles, Google Business Profile updates, lead magnets, and sales follow-up. That repurposing gives each core idea more opportunities to reach the right person without asking Shane to create separate content for every channel.
CycleWerx connected the marketing foundation to practical sales support through HubSpot Sales Hub Professional. The work included CRM structure, database maintenance, sequences, dashboards, landing-page conversion paths, and early use of HubSpot’s Prospecting Agent.
Sales enablement remained a supporting part of the engagement rather than the entire story. Its role was to help Bender follow up more consistently, nurture the right contacts, and give marketing activity a clearer path toward conversations.
By August 2026, Bender had a mature marketing foundation with measurable search visibility and a deep library of owned content. The results below combine durable assets created across the partnership with Semrush estimates and position-tracking data dated August 28, 2026.

B2B buying journeys rarely come from a single campaign or touchpoint. Prospects may encounter a company through search, content, social media, email, referrals, and direct conversations before they are ready to engage. This case study therefore focuses on the durable marketing system that made those interactions possible, rather than assigning every opportunity to one isolated activity.
At Bender CFO Services, the value came from the connection between those activities. The website, content library, newsletters, search presence, brand, and HubSpot tools worked together and improved over time. No individual channel had to carry the entire burden of generating awareness or creating trust.
Marketing for an advisory firm depends on trust. A prospective client may read an article, see several LinkedIn posts, subscribe to a newsletter, visit a service page, and return months later when a financial problem becomes urgent. No single touchpoint tells the whole story.
A long-term partner can connect those moments. CycleWerx could recognize when Bender’s positioning needed to narrow, when the website needed another rebuild, when content should be repurposed, and when an outreach program needed to shift. The system improved because the relationship preserved context instead of forcing each new project to begin from zero.
This is the practical value of fractional marketing leadership paired with an outsourced execution team. Bender gained senior guidance and hands-on capacity across the website, content, search, email, HubSpot, and sales support without hiring separate specialists or managing a collection of disconnected vendors.
The results described here reflect a true collaboration. CycleWerx led marketing strategy and execution, while Shane supplied the financial expertise, business context, responsiveness, and willingness to refine the approach that made the work possible. The strongest outcomes came from combining those contributions over time.
If your website, content, CRM, email, and sales follow-up are all active but do not feel coordinated, the problem may be a lack of ownership rather than a lack of tactics.
CycleWerx combines fractional marketing leadership with an outsourced team that can set priorities, manage the work, and keep the right pieces moving together over time.
